Dylan's Silkies

Here are some of our black silkies.  We focus on breeding the darkest blacks so that the color is very saturated.  We only breed pure black on black birds to ensure that the color is dark and we are able to obtain the shiny beetle green black sheen.

BEARDED BLACK SILKIES

Color – Male and Female

PLUMAGE: Surface – lustrous greenish black    Undercolor – dull black

COMB, FACE, AND WATTLES: Deep mulberry, approaching black. Very small, natural absence preferred.

BEARD: Thick, full, extending back of eyes and projecting from sides of face.

BEAK: Leaden Blue.

EYES: Black.

EARLOBES: Light blue turquoise

SHANKS AND TOES: Leaden Blue

SKIN: Dark Blue
